When Trip and Cameron Campbell attended our Passage to Manhood Camp in 2020, Cameron was in a time of transition as a 23-year-old, as he was changing jobs. His father Trip recognized that this age and phase was an important season in his son’s life, and he didn’t want to miss it. “This was a special time with Cameron that will leave me with no regrets, knowing that he was blessed and called into manhood by his Dad while honoring our Heavenly Father,” Trip reflects.
Trip and Cameron were both excited about the camp—for a chance to get away together and strengthen their solid relationship even further. Trip had high expectations for their experience, hopeful that the two men “would have opportunities to get away together and mark a time for me as a Dad to bless my son and confirm him as a man. This was something my Dad could not do for me.”
Thankfully, Passage to Manhood Camp met and even exceeded Trip’s hopes. He shares that he and Cameron left with a better relationship together and with new friends from the week, and that each man also had a closer relationship with God and a new level of friendship as brothers in the Lord.
Cameron’s hope for the camp was similar: he wanted to have a good time and get closer to his dad. Sure enough, he expresses that the two left with a “not only a stronger father-son bond, but a brotherly bond in Christ.”
Trip agrees with his son’s reflections. “We have a new level of closeness in our relationship, and another special memory that will last a lifetime,” he shares. “We have referred back to conversations and experiences we shared, and we have an even closer bond to each other through the shared experience.”
“We will continue to highly recommend this retreat to our friends,” Trip concludes. “The entire CITS team was top notch and everyone had a true servant’s heart!”
